In this picture, a textbook is open and it is almost like the subject can see the wisdom flowing off the page as her head is tilted slightly. She holds a serious expression and I wanted to express that we should all strive to study hard just like the subject. Chiaroscuro was used and only a small majority of the face is lighted up. The spine of Chinese textbook acts as a leading line to the subject’s head that is photographed at a frontal angle.

Not Just a Reflection

In this picture, I aimed to show how there are different sides to a person and that we understand their personalities as a reflection of who they are. But, there is much more to a person and we should not judge them nor see them through rose tinted glasses. Hence, the name “Not Just a Reflection”. I tried to promote getting to know someone more than just the surface.
