Site-specific Installation

Group members:

Lim Zhi Hui Joyce, Cherrie Chong Pei Cen, Serena Loo Rui En

At surface level, the installation artwork blends into the school's landscape. When students and other viewers engage with the work, they too become part of  it by leaving their own “prints” and “marks” behind. Inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s Obliteration Room, we portrayed objects in school as existing beyond their expected function, turning into vessels that hold batches of students’ memories. As our memories fade with time, so does the chalk. We hope to allow viewers to consider and ponder the perspective of these objects in school and the vast profoundness in each of them.
