Untitled (Mug design for a school project)
Watercolour and Ink
25.5 x 10.5 cm

This artwork was a draft for a mug design draft for the school’s 60th anniversary. This artwork was also one of my first attempts at urban sketching after being inspired by sketching groups such as Urban Sketchers Singapore. In this artwork, I decided to put together the different iconic landmarks in Singapore, old and new, to symbolisze the time it took to establish BPGHS into the prestigious institution it is today - 60 years. It also symboliszes how its students never fail to stay true to our roots even as wewhile the school and its students keep up with the new and rising trends, we also never fail to stay true to our roots.

This artwork was produced when I was studying the Russian abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky and was greatly inspired by his artworks. This artwork depictsare the images I had visualised and the emotions I had felt while listening to a popular classical piano piece titled “ Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement”. This artwork has sincelater inspired me to explore the deconstruction of architecture.
