A moment of Solitude and Reflections
Clay

The work’s key message is inspired by a quote: “you’re imperfect, and you’re wired for struggle, but you’re worthy of love and belonging.”

I wish to express the contradiction and co-existence of binary, that of peace: self-reflection, staying grounded, kindness; and that of chaos: self-doubt, lack of confidence. 2020 saw me trying to discover who I really am and becoming conscious of myself, and slowly coming to accept and love myself. It was a struggle but I pressed on because owning our story and loving ourselves are one of the bravest things we could do, thus the duality.

It was my first time working with clay to create a sculpture, and I enjoyed a lot during the process of making.
