This painting is a representation of how Singaporeans are gradually becoming more reliant on modern ways of living. The ice cream in a delivery bag, which is in focus, symbolises how convenience is preferred in our society. The way the ice cream overshadows the old school ice cream cart symbolises how our Singaporean culture is often being forgotten, especially among the youth. This work hopes to spark a sense of realisation in Singaporeans to be more aware of our history and traditions, instead of being drowned in the benefits of rapid modernisation.
