Charcoal Portrait Drawing
Charcoal on wood
60 x 25 cm

I wanted to experience what it was like to draw without paper and pencils. Some challenges I faced while making this portrait were erasing the charcoal marks, which is difficult as the charcoal marks were done on a textured hard surface of wood and not on smooth paper. Hence, I had to be more careful. It was also difficult to draw accurately, so I decided to use the grids as guides, which helped me a lot. Although it did not turn out like how I had envisaged, I am glad to have tried out a new medium.
