The Patterns in Our School
Sculpture

My sculpture aims to break the routine of sunlight in my school, NJC, by keeping a particular pattern on the wall throughout the day or at other times of the day when the sun isn’t out. This is because I noticed that the patterns in NJC cast by the sun are fascinating, but are only visible only when the sun is out. Additionally, people do not observe these patterns, and I made this sculpture in hopes that they will begin to.

I used mirrors and cutouts so sunlight could be captured easily and the various patterns could be cast onto the wall fairly well. Additionally, my sculpture enables the user to spin it in a circular motion, in hopes of capturing sunlight from the angle that the sun is shining at that particular time of the day.

Hopefully, through this sculpture, more people can come to know of the wonderful patterns formed by sunlight in NJC.
