Coral
Clay
Dimensions Variable

My theme was based on natural phenomenon. I decided to go with corals because I find them very unique with varying shapes and styles. The essence of my work is danger. I took the basic shape of a coral and turned it into a simplified structure. I wanted to ensure there were minimal details. I used stoneware clay and mainly used the technique of addition rather than subtraction. The finger-like structures represent the branches of a coral and I arranged it so that it was like a cage, to show how corals can trap things.
