Inspired by motion picture, ‘Synchronicity’ is a triptych which portrays the process of a basic dance movement. The dance shoes in the first 2 panels suggest the presence of a human, yet the stark absence of one creates a feeling of loss and emptiness. This stasis quickly evolves into a flurry of action in the third panel as emotions and energy flood the canvas, foregrounding the energy and strength of a dancer.

Responding to the theme of ‘An Alternate World’, I drew reference from The Classic of Mountain and Sea. According to the book, a mythical creature which goes by the name of ‘Kun’ is a massive fish-bird hybrid that lives in the northern sea.
