My project explores the underrated places in our heartlands as well as the dying trades in Singapore which are losing popularity among Singaporeans due to their preference towards shopping malls. After visiting the disappearing shops in Little India and Joo Chiat Road, I decided to design a museum that will bring us back to the olden days. The museum consists of old trades shops with information and activities to engage visitors while learning more about these dying trades. My final work features the model of 3 key shops—Mama shop, rattan shop and coffee shop.
