For this work, I wanted to bring more focus to the items in the collection, which were animals made of plastic bricks. Only they are coloured, while the person, ‘Maharani’ (Queen), holding them together with the background is coloured in black and white, allowing them to stand out as the more important subject matter. I also merged half of them with their real-life counterparts, so as to contrast the inanimate objects on a living being. These inanimate animals are depicted to resemble life-like animals through their postures and expressions. One sits on Maharani’s top, in a crown-like posture to inform us of this person’s fascination with plastic brick animals.
